The Amboró National Park is an immense natural area of 637.000.600 ha . Located on the extreme East of the Andean region of the Department of Santa Cruz.
It is zone of exceptional biodiversity due to its condition of rendezvous point between the main four bio-geographical regions of Santa Cruz : The Amazonian Southeast (Rain forests), the West of the Brazilian shield (Deciduous closed forests), the North of the Chaco (dry forests) and the so diversified subtropical and mild forests of the Andean mountains.

This mosaic of ecosystems housing a wealth of diversity in fauna and flora: 127 mammals, 109 fish species, 105 reptiles, 820 Birds representing 60% of the country converting this protected area in one of the most diverse over the planet documented up to this date.
All of the rivers in the area flows their waters into the Mamoré River , which is part of the great Amazonian basin. |
